Venice, Italy

Hej to all of you!

After long period of time I have finally caught some time to sit in our sofa, next to music with macbook in my hands to capture my thoughts. It has been a busy time for us here in Stockholm, new job for me, creating our first product, launching company and finally time to go forward with our Triplando. Super exciting time in front of us to see how will we show us and how will you like our story, to see your feedback.

To continue with why you are reading this post, Venice. Memories of warm warm summeris really welcome now here in Stockholm, this post is a like a “ray of sunshine”. We took this trip on our big road trip we took this summer, with our “baby” (read our car, specially bought for this trip for which we went to Germany to get it). We have started our trip in Stockholm, Sweden then we drove true Denmark, Germany, Austria, Slovenia to Hvar, Croatia. Later we have continued our drive to Mostar and Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. After Sarajevo we got to the most romantic place in Europe you can guess, no is not Paris but surely you have thought of Venice, Italy and this destination will be described on our way, today! Hope I will be able to put in words all the beauty this place have given us, for everything else I do believe the photos will do the trick to persuade you Booking your trip, right here.
Venice is a city in northeastern Italy and the capital of the Veneto region. It is situated across a group of small islands that are separated by canals and linked bridges. Parts of Venice are renowned for the beauty of their settings, their architecture and artwork. The lagoon and a part of the city are listed as a World Heritage site.

We had two nights, one full day at this amazing place. When we were searching for our stay at this destination we admit it was really hard. Reminded us at the time when we were searching place to stay at Rome, so it is quite tricky to find your fit at Italy. We did want to be central but at what cost? The prices in the city centre were quite expensive, and not as reachable. Especially because we were traveling with a car and we needed a place that would provide us to park our car, that is secure and do not cost a fortune. So we have expand our search segment on Booking.com. And we came across to some “more known” hotels that fulfil our filters. Finally we found our match, Best Western Quid Hotel near the Airport, approximately 10km from city centre. We have stayed here twice actually, we came on our way back from Nice to Maribor. Do not hesitate because of the distance, just on the main street by the hotel there is a Bus station from which there is direct connection to Venice city centre for less then 3 Euro cost. All the informations regarding Bus transportation or other you can require at the front desk in the BW Quid Hotel.
Back to the Hotel, if you like red colour and modern design with artistic note – this is the place for you to stay. At the start it assimilates a lot to Ibis hotel, which is comforting for a traveler, you feel like you know what to expect. Just under the Hotel there is underground private garage with direct access to 24/7 Front desk reception. We really loved that! As entering in second space of BW Quid Hotel we got comforting feeling of modern design influenced by red colour and trendy interior. At the friendly front desk we got all the required informations and a breakfast just for addition 3 Euro per person. We booked a standard room with no additional features, the Hotel was at that time at high demand. But we were more then satisfied with the room. The design spreads with the same design note thought the Hotel, red and white combination with dark tones is very present in the room. There was enough space for all our belongings and a safe for our valuable assets. Check the mini fridge, it is complimentary from the Hotel to refresh, Pepsi did taste amazing after a long ride. With dimmed light and just the right hardness of mattress was the best room to relax and sleep. We really like the spacious bathroom. Even doe we had some difficulties with toilet we loved fast service that solved the situation quickly and efficiently. We were not bothered by that, because we were enjoying a cold Peroni in the warm summer night at their terrace. Service is more then friendly and it was a perfect space for us to plan our whole day trip in Venice tomorrow.

When it come to plan your trip at Venice it is easy to make it one day, just get ready to walk a lot. We did 16 km in one day on foot! Pack some additional bottles of water, hat and SPF lotion in summer can be useful to protect you from strong sun and try to hide in shade of many allies of the town. Venice are a perfect destination for wanderlust souls, history and architecture lovers. This town built on water is just one of a kind must see thing in life. There is no special recipe what to do in this town, just follow the signs on the buildings that will eventually lead you true all monuments, over the bridges to St. Marks square. But of course do not miss: Ponte di Rialto, Ponte dei Sospiri, Torre dell’Orologio, Basilica di San Marco, Canal Grande,… We saved the best for the last, Gondola ride. Make sure you take the Gondola near the St. Marks square, to be able to go under the Ponte dei Sospiri and to join Canal Grande. It is one of the kind experience, and how often will you get the chance to do that? So prepare to pay the price, word of advice it is the same price everywhere so do not search for cheaper offer or to bargain. Do not forget you are in Italy and that you will enjoy in amazing cuisine. Pizza, pasta and gelato everywhere! Take some time in the evening to observe reflections of the city lights from the water. Relax in a nice restaurant over beautiful sound of Italian music and glass of wine and just enjoy in dolce fare niente!

This was just something little of what this town have to offer, hope you like it!

Yours sincerely,

triplandos.
